About Me

My name is Ashlie Johnston, and I am the Computer teacher at Kelly Elementary.  This is my fifteenth year here and I teach grades Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 7.  I enjoy teaching the students about technology as well as learning about new and exciting changes as technology grows. Throughout this class, your child will not only learn about computers but essential skills that are needed to prepare them for the future.  This includes computer literacy concepts, computer science basics, coding, computer applications, Internet safety, and more.

My Mission

I am dedicated to prepare our students to be computer literate citizens for the ever-changing world of technology that we live in.  I will guide them to grow and have a knowledge in technology, learn to be digital citizens, and prepare them for future endeavors.  My drive to facilitate their growth will help them learn important skills inside and outside of the classroom. I have a commitment to educate our students to be better students, and I will continue to model to help them grow and be well-rounded individuals.

A Little About Me

I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Southeast Missouri State University in 2005 and completed my Masters in Teacher Leadership in 2013.  My husband and I enjoy spending time with our two sons.  We also have two dogs, Chief and Zoey.  My favorite activities outside of school are being outdoors, spending time with family and friends, watching the Chiefs with my family, and shopping!

I think being a Computer teacher is a great job!  It is very rewarding to see my students learn computer basics and then grow through the years and see them excel in Keyboarding, Computer Applications, and other computer skills!  In my classes, I look for students to work hard and to try their best.
